To many of those who have followed the Sandusky case closely, this latest court action comes as no big surprise .
Penn State student Brian Schroffer says, "I have to say that I really used to like Spanier. We thought he was like JoePa. He was part of the Penn State community and then when all this happened, we were really disappointed and I'm glad that justice will hopefully be served."
There were those on the campus that think it was about time the additional criminal charges were filed.
"I mean that's pretty good. I mean, he deserved it if he covered it up and everything like that. It's a shame it happened here at Penn State but that's justice being served, " says Penn State student Jeff Walter.
While there is a perception that a Penn State cover-up may have occurred, not every one is ready to convict the former president.
Nick Pacheski, also from Penn State adds, "I personally think there are some things that are unknown that will come out during the case and it could be positive or negative, but I'm not sure."
But for many it clear these additional charges means this case is a long way from over. And PSU student Zak Folladaor says, "Obviously this is going to bring it back in the news again, but I think it has been a long time coming. I'm glad they are finally moving on it and starting to proceed in the trial and stuff like that."
