CLEARFIELD - A new library opened in Houtzdale.  A ribbon cutting was held on Sunday 28th October at the Hiller Family Memorial Library.

Gretchen Hiller, a former resident, provided the funds for the library.   Gretchen, who passed away in 2007, was a teacher in the Houtzdale and Clearfield areas for 47 years and this was a lifelong goal of hers.

The majority of the books were donated by community members, and the library board is looking for volunteers.

The library has a Facebook page for people to contact them.
