(State College, Pa) - After jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st, the Spikes squandered the lead in the 3rd on a Jared Lankind error.

But trailing 2-1 heading into the bottom of the 6th Ryan Hornbeck came through with the bases loaded, as he singled home the tying and go-ahead runs.

The Spikes got some insurance in the 7th as Jodaneli Carvajal hit an RBI triple, and Raul Fortunato followed that up with an RBI single, as the Spikes won the home opener 5-2.

Carvajal was 2-3, while Fortunato went 3-4.

Logan Pevny picked up the win in relief.
