The Altoona Curve enjoyed a well-deserved day off Monday, but used part of the time to travel to Connecticut.

The Curve (26-27), who have won five straight games and seven of their last eight after a 10-game losing streak, swept the three-game set from the R-Phils and went 5-1 on the rain-shortened six-game homestand.  Altoona will play its next game Tuesday night in the opener of a six-game road trip at New Britain.  After three games against the Rock Cats (AA/Twins), the Curve will travel to Harrisburg for a three-game set against the Senators (AA/Nationals) next weekend.
