Pirates Lose to Cubs

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Alfonso Soriano got three hits and the Chicago
Cubs won for the 12th time in 15 games by beating the Pittsburgh
Pirates 7-to-1. Ted Lilly pitched neatly into the eighth inning win
his fourth straight decision and improve to 8-and-4.
      Chicago finished with 14 hits, all in the first six innings. The
Cubs have gone eight games without a homer, their longest such
streak since 1999.
      Ronny Paulino had three hits for the Pirates, who had a
four-game winning streak end.
