Janocko set a goal as a young child to one day be an all-star quarterback in the Lezzer Lumber Classic. This weekend, he'll take the field in that role for the north squad. But it will also be his last high school football game, coached by his father, Tim Janocko.
Andrew has been prowling the sidelines with his Dad since elementary school. He was actually the water boy for the north squad all-stars when 10 Sports first interviewed him for a feature story in 1994. Now, the 19-year old all-star is looking forward to becoming a preferred walk-on at the University of Pittsburgh this fall. He'd love to quarterback the Panthers in a bowl game.
As a three-year member of the Clearfield varsity team, Andrew Janocko helped to uphold the championship tradition Coach Janocko has built, helping the Bisons to MAC and D-9 league titles, and two District 9-AAA titles.
Andrew hopes to follow in his father's footsteps. He'll major in secondary education at Pitt, with the goal of one day coaching high school football.
The Lezzer Lumber Classic kicks off Friday night at 7pm at Golden Tiger Stadium in Hollidaysburg.
