Lezzer Lumber All-Star Practice Begins

Practices are underway for the 23rd annual Lezzer Lumber All-Star Classic.
The North vs South clash features 80 graduated high school seniors for 31 schools in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Clarion, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Huntingdon, Jefferson, Juniata, and Mifflin counties.
The North squad is led by Chris Dworek, who guided Brookville to the District 9-AA Championship in the 2006 season. His associate coaches are Tim Janocko, Clearfield; Steve Turchetta, Central Mountain; Jason Shilala, DuBois; Tom Weaver and Doug Davis; Brookville, and Blake Moilan, Punxsutawney. The North squad's Honorary Coach is Gary Hubler (West Branch).
The South squad is led by John Barton, who guided Hollidaysburg to the District 6-AAA Championship last season. His associate coaches are Craig Sponsky, Bishop Carroll; Dick Barronner, Hollidaysburg; Coaches Yackymac, Walter, and Albrano, Hollidaysburg. The South squad's Honorary Coach is Harold Price (Hollidaysburg).
Proceeds from the Lezzer Lumber Classic benefit the game's scholarship fund. The Central Pennsylvania Football Coaches Association will have awarded $78,000 in scholarships to 156 recipients over the last 21 years.
Kick off is 7pm Friday night at Golden Tiger Stadium in Hollidaysburg. Pre-Sale tickets are $5, available at participating schools. Tickets at the gate are $6 for adults and students.
