Marine Corps 2nd Lieutenant Anthony Piccioni will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2007 PSFCA East West All-Star Awards Banquet Friday, June 22nd at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona.

Piccioni was a Circle of Excellence Award Winner as a member of the 2002 West All-Star squad.  He is a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg where he helped the Huskies to three District 6 championships and three appearances in the PIAA Western Final.  He earned Associated Press First-Team honors as a junior and senior.

Piccioni attended the U.S. Naval Academy, earning three varsity letters as part of the Midshipmen football team.  He played in every game in the 2004, 2005, and 2006 seasons, as Navy earned four consecutive bowl appearances.  The linebacker/special teams star was voted the Most Inspirational Player by his teammates, and was honored at the 2005 Poinsettia Bowl team luncheon on the USS Midway.  Piccioni and the Midshipmen finished the 2006 regular season with a 9-3 record, including a fifth-straight victory over West Point, equaling the longest win streak over Army in the series history, and earning an invitation to the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte, NC.   A last-second field goal lifted Boston College over Navy, 25-24.  The Midshipmen finished the season with a 9-4 overall record.

2nd Lt. Anthony Piccioni will spend the next year serving as a graduate assistant coach with the Navy Football team; his service selection upon graduation is listed as “Marine Corps Ground”.

The 7th Annual PSFCA East-West All-Star week begins June 18th when athletes arrive in Altoona.  After a week of practices, public appearances, and special events, the East will battle the West Saturday, June 23rd at Mansion Park.

Tickets for all events, including the game and the awards banquet are available through the Allegheny Mountains Convention and Visitors Bureau by calling (814) 943-4183.  For more information, click here.
