Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

Today started gray and unsettled with plenty of clouds and scattered snow showers but dry air started to move in from the north this afternoon and that clearing trend will continue early tonight. With light winds and a mainly clear sky temperatures will drop rapidly early tonight reaching the teens in most locations before some high clouds start to move back in before dawn. These clouds are with a system that will bring thickening cloudiness to the area on Thursday. There is a slight chance for some drizzle or flurries later Thursday then this system will organized along the East Coast and then bring a steadier wintry mix later Thursday night into Friday. While the heaviest precipitation will be to our east, there could be some travel problems before this system comes to an end by Friday night. It will become windy on the backside of this system later Friday into Saturday. There may be some clouds early Saturday but then an area of high pressure will build in and give us plenty of sunshine later Saturday into Sunday. With the sunshine, it will be milder this weekend with highs near or just above 40. Some clouds may start to arrive later Sunday and then the next system will bring mainly rain Monday. There may be a little break on Tuesday before rain or snow showers are possible again Wednesday.
