ALTOONA - For the past few months we've been hammering away, installing new equipment, building a completely new set, and now WTAJ is broadcasting in high definition.

Here's the result, we now have the newest technology giving viewers the highest quality picture to match award-winning breaking news coverage.

Watch a Time Lapse of the WTAJ News HD Studio creation.

News, weather and sports coverage will never be the same.

"The broadcast signal that we're sending out is the highest possible signal that's available anywhere in the country," said Phil Dubrow, WTAJ Vice President and General Manager. "We're very proud to be able to deliver that."

Picture quality is more detailed and clearer than ever, and we'll be taking advantage of the entire screen.

No matter what type of TV you have, we'll be showing information on-screen that's easier to read and located in all the right places.

Our state-of-the-art, new set gives reporters and anchors the opportunity to better present stories.

Your weather authority also has a bigger and better home to explain the forecast and better help you understand exactly what's going on.

"We're going to be able to show you a higher resolution, getting down to the street level with our forecasting," said Dubrow. "It's really going to be remarkable with our doppler HD and all our other HD products."

The best local newscasts now have the best look in Central PA.

Now, more than ever, we are Your News Leader... in HD.
