WEST POINT, N.Y.; - Freshman forward Casey Bailey (Anchorage, Alaska) recorded a career-high three points (1g, 2a) and sophomore goaltender PJ Musico (Orange, Calif.) stopped all 34 shots as the Penn State men's hockey team blanked Army, 5-0, for the program's first shutout at Tate Rink Friday evening. The Nittany Lions, who defeated the Black Knights (1-3-1) for the first time in a series that dates back to the 1940s, improved to 3-2-0 with their second straight win.

Sophomore defenseman Peter Sweetland (Newtown, Pa.), who added an assist, and freshmen forwards Kenny Brooks (Las Vegas, Nev.), David Glen (Fort Saskatchewan, Atla.) and Jonathan Milley (Gatineau, Que.) also tallied for the Nittany Lions.

Brooks gave Penn State a 1-0 first-period lead before the Nittany Lions exploded with three second-period tallies. Milley recorded his second power-play goal of the season before Sweetland scored in his first game of the 2012-13 campaign. Just 1:12 later, Bailey added this third of the season and, in the final frame, Glen capped off the scoring to account for the 5-0 final.

The Nittany Lions outshot Army by a 45-34 margin and were 1-for-5 with the man advantage. Army was 0-for-6 on the power play. Black Knights netminder Rob Tadazak surrendered five goals on 18 shots before Ryan Leets , who corralled 22 attempts, relieved him.
