Penn State Football Staff -- June Update

Updated: June 20, 2012
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. -- The Penn State football coaching staff has had a busy month of June as they prepare for the upcoming season.

In addition to holding five football camps this month, they are also focusing on finishing their playbooks, tweaking their schemes and getting ready for at the very least, the first two games of the season from a scouting standpoint.

This after wrapping up a successful spring on the recruiting trail -- landing 11 verbal commitments for 2013 so far.

"I think we've got a very strong recruiting staff," says head football coach Bill O'Brien. "I think we're recruiting against some great programs, but we've got a bunch of guys here that understand the mission of Penn State, and they've laid the groundwork for what I think hopefully will be a good recruiting class."

After some time off in July, the staff will report back to work on the 23rd.
