Altoona and Bishop McCort among Local Teams Off to State Semifinals

SOMERSET, PA - The Altoona Mountain Lions punched their ticket to the PIAA-AAAA semifinals topping Mt. Lebanon 6-3 Thursday in Somerset. Altoona will now face Council Rock South in the AAAA semifinal game on Monday, June 11.
Also on Thursday, Bishop McCort jumped out to a big lead against Our lady of Sacred Heart and held on for dear life winning 9-8 in a PIAA-A quarterfinal game.
Bishop McCort will next face District 9 member Elk County Catholic in the A semifinals on Monday.
