Curve Announce Team Awards for 2007

Altoona, PA -- The Altoona Curve announced their season-ending player awards prior to
Thursday’s home finale at Blair County Ballpark. Highlighting the awards
presented was the announcement that first baseman Steven Pearce has been named the club’s 2007 Most Valuable Player.
Pearce, who is currently playing for the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians, hit
.334 with 14 home runs and 72 RBI in 81 games for
The Curve also presented their annual “Pitcher of the Year” award to
reliever Matt Peterson. In
49 appearances out of the Curve bullpen, Peterson has posted a 4-2 record with
27 saves, a 2.02 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings. Peterson’s 27
