NEW YORK (AP) - The F-B-I is investigating allegations that
veteran N-B-A referee Tim Donaghy bet on basketball games over the
past two seasons. The games include ones in which he officiated.
Donaghy grew up in suburban Philadelphia and graduated from
Cardinal O'Hara High School and Villanova University.
Defense attorney John Lauro confirms Donaghy is under
investigation. He declined to comment on the allegations or the
case.
N-B-A commissioner David Stern says the league is cooperating
with the F-B-I in its investigation.
