Curve Plan Dog-Gone Homestand

ALTOONA- The Curve will host the Binghamton Mets in a three-game series beginning Monday, July 23rd, at 7:05 PM.  The series will mark Binghamton's only appearance at Blair County Ballpark in 2007 and will be packed with entertainment and activity.

The series opener on Monday, July 23rd, features Hank's Bark in the Park 2.  Dogs will be permitted at BCB for the 7:05 PM start and the first 500 dogs of all breeds will receive a Curve Dog Dish Giveaway.  One of the most popular traveling entertainment acts in professional sports, Skyy Dogs USA & Rockin' Ray, will be entertaining fans throughout the ballgame.

Game two of the series is scheduled for a 7:05 PM first pitch on Tuesday, July 24.  Following the ballgame, the Ponderosa Steakhouse will present a Fireworks Spectacular as well as a performance of "God Bless America".  Also on Tuesday, the Curve will team up with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to aid the fight against childhood cancer.  All proceeds from lemonade sales in the BCB Lemonade Stand will go directly to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.  The Curve will also be offering rides on the "SkyLiner" Roller Coaster for a donation of $5 to Alex's Lemonade Stand.  In 2006, the Altoona Curve Lemonade Days raised over $2,300 to benefit the fight against childhood cancer.

On Wednesday, July 25th, the three-game series and abbreviated homestand will conclude with the series finale against Binghamton at 12:00 PM.  Wednesday will mark Super Splash Day at the ballpark.  Fans will be "cooled off" throughout the ballgame with the help of the Greenwood Fire Department and the BCB concourse will be transformed into a "water wonderland" with sprinklers, hoses, a dunk tank, kiddie pools and squirt guns all a part of the summer fun.

Monday, July 23rd, through Wednesday, July 25th, the Curve will be participating in the "Blood Battle of the Ballparks 2007" against their sister-franchise, the State College Spikes.  The two teams will be in competition to donate the most blood to the American Red Cross.  Donations will be taken all three days from Noon to 6 PM at The Casino at Lakemont Park.  Donors can make an appointment by calling 1-800-GIVE LIFE or by visiting the give life homepage. T he Curve are currently in possession of the Blood Cup, defeating the Spikes in "Blood Battle of the Ballparks 2006".
