4 Curve Players Earn All-Star Nod

Luis Munoz earns an all-star nod in his first double-a baseball season. The 25-year old right-hander has posted an 8-4 record and 3.36 ERA through 16 games (14 starts) this season. Munoz ranks tied for the second-most wins in the league.
Matt Peterson is having an all-star season as the Curve closer. the 25-year old leads the Eastern League with 17 saves in 18 opportunities, with a 3-0 record and 1.16 ERA in 27 appearances.
Steven Pearce is heading to the EL all-star game on the heels of his Eastern League player-of-the-week selection. Pearce is batting .330 (67-for-203) with 19 doubles, 2 triples, 11 home runs, and 50 RBI in 58 games with the Curve. He spent the entire month of April with the class-a Lynchburg Hilllcats.
Neil Walker has made a successful move from catcher to third base this season, as evidenced by his all-star nod. Considered one of the top prospects in the Pirates organization, the 21-year-old is one of the youngest players on the EL all-star rosters. Walker is batting .302 with 24 doubles, 2 triples, 12 home runs, and 42 RBI in 78 games. He ranks among league leaders in several categories, including slugging percentage (.532) and runs scored (55).
The 2007 Eastern League All-Star game is July 11th in Norwich, Connecticut.
