Sunshine will make an appearance for most people Sunday, but clouds may hold tough in the Laurel Highlands. With the sun will be out, temperatures will make it to the low and mid 30s, which is seasonal. Clouds will increase in the evening ahead of a disturbance that will start the work week.

This disturbance will start with light snow, but temperatures will be warming, meaning a changeover to a wintry mix (maybe freezing rain in spots) and then to rain by Monday afternoon as temperatures rise to near 40. There will be rain showers Tuesday, but a brief break going into Wednesday as another system moves in. Tuesday will be warmer and temperatures will peak Wednesday in the mid and upper 40s. A few communities could see 50 before the colder air behind that system moves in.

Temperatures will fall as January ends and February begins, and long-range models show the possibility of snow next weekend.
