Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo
Clouds will thicken Friday morning and then a mix of freezing rain, sleet, snow and perhaps rain will develop Friday afternoon and continue into Friday night. There will likely be no travel problems during the day Friday but there can be some slippery spots Friday evening and night, even though there will be light accumulations. Because of this wintry mix, a winter weather advisory has been issued for most of our region from the midday Friday into Saturday morning. Clouds will try to break Saturday afternoon, but it may be too late for many spots to have the mercury rising out of the 30s. Sunday and Monday will both feature a mix of clouds and sunshine. It still may be a bit chilly on Sunday but then milder air will try to press in on Monday. Once again this break will not last long as the next system may bring a wintry mix on Tuesday with leftover flurries and snow showers Wednesday into Thursday.
