At Kozee's Emporium, in the Nittany Mall, fans can by local sports merchandise. The owner of the store says a lot of customers before the Super Bowl want clothes and party items.
The Shawber family, now of Howard, formerly of Northern Virginia took a trip to the store to stock up well in advance of Super Bowl Sunday.
"Little kid Steeler sweatshirts and we were looking for some jerseys," Lisa Shawber said.
Two weeks ago, the Shawber family wasn't in Central PA, but now that they are local they say they're starting to embrace everything black and gold. The family says they love the area because unlike the Redskins the Steelers win.
"No love lost, it's okay, we tried to embrace them for so many years, but you know it's been hard to get behind them," Shawber said.
Emma Shawber got her first Steelers shirt on Tuesday. The Shawber's say their kids will fit in well at their new school in Bellefonte. They say they've always loved football, but have a new passion in the Steelers.
"I hope they win the Super Bowl, I hope they win, if they win the Super Bowl this will be their eighth, seventh time," Lily Shawber said.
With a seventh championship, the owner of Kozee's knows he'll have to fill his store with merchandise. He says he expects about 250 AFC Championship shirts to come in later this week and then, Super Bowl stuff after that.
"It's sort of like a pre-order, just like the Super Bowl, we already have things ordered for the Super Bowl," Steve Kozak, the owner of Kozee's Emporium said.
Kozak says Super Bowl items will arrive several days before the game. Lily and Emma's parents say they can stay up past their bedtime to watch every minute of the Super Bowl.
The owner of Kozee's says the store is still restocking shelves after the Jets game.
