Alledged Ringleader of "Greensburg 6" Guilty of Murder

GREENSBURG, WESTMORELAND COUNTY - A jury has reached a verdict in the trial of the alleged ringleader of the so-called "Greensburg 6."

Ricky Smyrnes, 26, was found guilty of murdering Jennifer Daugherty in a Westmoreland County court house Thursday afternoon. 

Smyrnes was one of six people charged in connection with the murder and torture of Daugherty.

Her body was found inside a garbage can in a Greensburg school parking lot on February 2010. 

The prosecution is seeking the death penalty. Smyrnes fate will be decided on a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
