ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Former Altoona Police Officer Duane Eichenlaub has been found guilty on all charges, including aggravated assault and conspiracy stemming from a fight at an Altoona bar more than two years ago.
Hes getting the book thrown at him? Thats funny.. what happened to that herman ladardi or what ever his name is? Ill bet that guy does more time behind bars than this ex cop does... welcome to the system people.. I know of cases where the get a way driver got twice as much tme as the person that committed the robbery.. this case wont be any different.. you need to wake up man

What I was getting at was that he is getting the book thrown at him because he was a police officer. Do you really think this case would have gotten this much attention or he would have gotten the full punishment if he were not a police officer? Especially being a police officer in Altoona, having a Blair County jury and hearing in Blair County?

Grady when will you realize, this has nothing to do with him serving his country. I thank you and him both for doing such a great deed, however it is no reason to excuse breaking the law. I never once said he wasnt a good person, Im sure he is, but hey good people make mistakes, real men admit it and dont try to lie their way outta it.

John S, you obviously never served your country or community. You don't fully understand how implications are doubled down on you if you screw up. I'm just saying it was an unfair trial and unfair verdict. He is a good person and was acting on emotion, not logic.

first off David.. It was never proven that disgusting was ever done to her.. And to Grady.. I dont care how many tours in Iraq.. This isnt Iraq.. He broke the law and should quit hiding behind a gun, badge, services and man up. he of all people otta know dont do the crime and you cant do the time!

Ok, so I'm not going to attack anyone in here as that proves/solves nothing, but I am going to ask, has everyone seen the photo of Earl in the hospital? If so, how is that justified just because someone else violated the ex-officer's wife? It's disgusting what was done to her, but it doesn't justify what was done to a person who was not involved in this.

Besides, how can an Altoona Poolice Officer recieve a fair trial in Blair County with a Blair County jury?

John S. The "clown" is an Iraq war vet and police officer. He got heated when the man stuck his hand up her dress. Stop insinuating when you do not have the proper facts. And as a soldier, am I held to these same standards? I've seen my fellow soldiersget in bar fights and arrested without any real punishment.

I'm glad. As a sworn officer he deserves worse than he will ever get. One question though, what happened to the attorney general agent that was involved in this?
Freddy F.January 24, 2013 at 6:35 pm
Yeah no war here.. But "that guy" was found not guilty on those charges but did receive something like 2 years in prison for lying to the grand jury.. chances are he probably never touched her, she was dunk and being a drama queen.. he prolly bumper up against her going to the bar to get another beer.. theres always 10 sides to every story especially in a bar

One question... Would this case have gotten so much publicity if this clown was not a police officer? These types of incidents happen daily/nightly at bars and nightclubs across the commonwealth and you never hear about them. Cowns like this have ruined the bar business.

My reason is in my message. I mentioned the other guy who committed the offense on the cops wife and was found not guilty. I did not mention the guy who was beat. However, I did say that it was unfair. Your entitled to your opionin in the same manner I'm entitled to mine. I'm not going to get into a message war on here. But I will state my opinion. You have a wonderful evening.

Im still furious the attorney generals office gave his partner in crime a slap on the wrist...
john s.January 24, 2013 at 4:51 pm
I agree with Fredrick.. This guy took an oath to protect and serve the same citizens he not only criminally beat but also tried to cover up the incident! Your gonna sit there and defend a violent criminal? Let me ask, for what reason?
john s.January 24, 2013 at 4:49 pm
I agree with Grady, Frederick is a moron. I don't think this verdict is fair. If this was the result, then I wish that Lardirie or however his name is spelled, would have got a real beating. But then again, he was locked up for a long, long time in a big prison for other crimes. I'm sure he got his "just dues" there. At least I hope he did.

Frederick, you are a keyboard soldier, pretty tough guy at that keyboard. ....and a moron.
