CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Phyllis Witherite's ex-daughter in law tried to kill her, her husband and her son by lighting their home on fire in November of 2010.

Nevel is sentenced to serve up to 20 years in prison.

"I'm happy that she is in state prison where she should be for what she did to so many people's lives" said Witherite.

Witherite says she now has another reason to be happy and her faith in humanity has been restored. Someone sent her an anonymous card and $500 Walmart giftcard.

"It just was a very pleasant surprise. You don't know who could do something this wonderful" she said.

Inside the sender typed, "A friend knows you are special and wants to help you enjoy a wonderful holiday season".

"I would like to thank them very much. It was very overwhelming to receive it and it was put to a worthy cause for all 7 of us" said Witherite.
