Lady Lions Fall to Minnesota, 67-50

   MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Ashley Ellis-Milan scored a career-high 22
points and resurgent Brittany McCoy added 12 to lead Minnesota to a
67-to-50 win over Penn State.
Ellis-Milan and McCoy picked up the offensive slack for the
Gophers when their top two scorers, Emily Fox and Leslie Knight,
went to the bench with foul trouble in the first half.
Ellis-Milan played with a brace on her injured right shoulder,
but she filled in quite well with a number of impressive inside
moves, grabbing nine rebounds. McCoy continued her strong play
after struggling most of the season, making several flashing drives
to the basket for layups.
Tyra Grant led the Nittany Lions with 16 points, while Mashea
Williams added 12.
The loss dropped the Nittany Lions out of a tie for the Big Ten
lead.
