STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY - "I'm going to run out of the tunnel, one of these days," says State College High senior Evan Galimberti. "As a little kid, up in the stands, I never would've thought that was going to happen. But that's great news, knowing my dreams are going to come true."
State College High's Evan Galimberti is going to be one of Bill O'Brien's run-ons. The offensive lineman knows that could benefit him during his time at Penn State.
"There are less scholarship guys around, so they're going to have more guys step up from the run-on program. They're a bigger role than ever."
While Galemberti will suit up for football at Beaver Stadium, there are other central Pennsylvania athletes that are moving up to the next level in their sports.
Lauren Bonness is headed to Michigan State. She's one of four Little Lion field hockey players who inked her letter of intent. What sold her on the Spartans is how familiar East Lansing is.
"In some ways it's a lot like Penn State, the whole campus feel," says Bonness. "Since I've grown up here, it's really a nice transition."
The other State College High signees include:
Taylor Meily, Field Hockey, Delaware
Kayla Klaus, Field Hockey, Slippery Rock
Caroline Moore, Field Hockey, Sacred Heart
Darian Herncane, Baseball, Binghamton
Liz Browne, Swimming, East Carolina
Genevieve Altomara, Women's Basketball, Kuztown
