RIDGWAY, ELK COUNTY - Anyone can become a victim of emotional, physical or sexual abuse. One in three cases of sexual abuse involves a child under the age of 12. The organizations that help these victims have been dealing with their own crisis.

"Over the years our funding has been slashed drastically and we have resorted to doing the bare minimum that we can to help assist victims" said Billi Jo Weyant the executive director of C.A.P.S.E.A. or Citizens against physical, sexual and emotion abuse.

For the first time in years, Corbett's proposed budget will provide a ten percent increase in funding to help victims of sexual abuse.

"We're operating at this time and I am talking not only C.A.P.S.E.A, but programs like ours across Pennsylvania we are operating with funds we received the same amount in 2000-2001" said Weyant.

With an increase in the amount of people using their services she adds, "We can't be cut anymore. There's no more trimming the fat " she said

The rely on fundraising. This Saturday from 10:00am - 2:00pm at The Edgewood in Saint Marys they will host the third annual "Polar Sweet Express".

By donating a wish list item you can go in and shop local vendors, taste beer and wine, enjoy a chocolate fountain and help the organization.
