ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY --- The "Closed" sign says it all.

The Altoona Ponderosa Steakhouse served it's last steak Sunday.

After 35 years at this location, under the Ponderosa logo and before that the Patriot Steak House name, diners came here for what many say were good steaks and buffet -- both at good prices.

According to the Altoona Mirror, the 40 part-time employees were made aware earlier of the closing.

It doesn't surprise me. Altoona consists of restaurants and shopping centers. There are only so many pieces of the pie.
