PA University Strike Action

By: Dirk Copland
Updated: November 13, 2012

Thousands of state-owned university faculty members in Pennsylvania are voting on possible strike action.

Voting started yesterday for the more than 6,000 employees affected.  Those ballots will be counted Friday 16th to see if 14 different campus staff will strike over union disagreements. Among the issues are health care benefits and pay for temporary educators.  Roughly 120,000 students could be impacted by a strike.  Locally, it could affect Lock Haven University, IUP and clarion.
