HARRISBURG -- New applications are now being accepted for the low-income home energy assistance program, known as LIHEAP.

The program provides assistance for home heating bills for accepted applicants during the winter months.  You can apply online or use a paper form at a local office.

To be eligible you must fall below the maximum income allowed.  For a household of one, participants must make less than $16,755 annually.  For a family of five, that number jumps to just more than $40,000.
