Nittany Lion Club Unveils "One Team Commitment"

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics and the Nittany Lion Club announced new donation and football seating options for Nittany Lion fans to choose from, as plans were unveiled for the 2013 season today.

Most significantly, the NLC will invite and encourage members to participate in the "One Team Commitment," a first-time, 5-Year commitment for NLC membership which, essentially, allows members to earn significant NLC bonus points each year, while demonstrating their longer-term support to Penn State's 800+ student-athletes competing for 31 varsity teams.  The opportunity to participate in the "One Team Commitment" exists for both current NLC members as well as those who wish to join in supporting Penn State Athletics and qualifying for football season ticket benefits for the coming years.

Additionally, the 2013 NLC seat donation levels were announced and include the addition of a new seating zone (see attached seating chart), as well as the adjustment of current seating zones, providing fans more options when deciding on a location and/or donation associated with that location.  No per seat donation or ticket price increases will be in effect for 2013, while the addition of a new level ($200/seat) and the adjustment to select others will result in a lower requirement on more than 11,500 seats, all between the goal lines on each sideline.

"The changes this year are put into place with two goals in mind," explained Acting Athletic Director David Joyner.  "One - offer our fans additional, more appealing options in order to maximize the number of Nittany Lion fans coming to Beaver Stadium and cheering on our team each week, and two - grow the revenues needed to maintain - in an increasingly difficult climate -- the excellent competitive and classroom performance that Penn Staters everywhere expect."

Beginning immediately, Nittany Lion Club members can renew their membership for 2013 online and earn additional NLC points by doing so before the early renewal deadline of November 1.  NLC members who do so will earn five (5) points for acting before the deadline and three (3) points for renewing online.

Those who choose the 5-Year "One Team Commitment" will earn double the NLC points for their annual contribution in each year of fulfilling their commitment, as well as an additional 50 NLC bonus points upon completion of their 5-year commitment.  Additionally, participants in the "One Team Commitment" will assure that their seat donation does not exceed 2013 per seat levels during the 5-year commitment period.  Annual NLC points will be recorded as donations are received each year.

"Our fans have been tremendously supportive over the past several months," said Head Coach Bill O'Brien, "and they've already made a difference for our kids this season.  We need that going forward, because every student on every one of our teams deserves the best Penn State has to offer.  Your 'One Team Commitment' can help insure that."
