JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Governor Tom Corbett said PSU will not pay its fines with tax payer dollars.

The Governor was on a tourism tour in Johnstown when he made the statement to a crowd Tuesday morning.

On Monday, NCAA fined Penn State University $60 million for various acts of misconduct.  The Big Ten also issued the university $13 million fine.

"In my mind it can not be paid with tax payer money," said Corbett.  "It was negotiated between University officials and the NCAA."

Corbett said although the fines and penalties are stiff he is glad the NCAA did not impose the death penalty against the university.  Corbett went on to state that it will take time for the university to move forward.

'People have strong opinions on both sides of the issue and will take time before the healing process will begin."
