Lady Lions Season Comes to an End

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The Lady Lions fell to the Kingston Region's No. 1 seed Connecticut 77-59 on Sunday and were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament after making it to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2004.

The Huskies got out to a fast start while Penn State had a shaky one and could not recover. Only two Lady Lions were in double figures -- Mia Nickson with 19 and Maggie Lucas with 15. Nickson also 5 rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.

Bria Hartley had a game-high 20 points for Connecticut who had five players in double figures.

The Lady Lions finished with a record of 26-7 which is their best season under Coquese Washington in her five years as head coach.
