Today was a very interesting day weather-wise. A wintry mix in the morning gave way to peeks of sunshine with surge in temperatures to near 40 during the afternoon before a cold front brought a line of gusty showers with a few rumbles of thunder. Behind the front, much colder air is poised to move in for the middle of the week. Temperatures started to fall this afternoon and will drop into the teens to near 20 by morning. Snow showers will start to become numerous once again with a coating to an inch in some locations by dawn. Wednesday will be windy and quite cold with snow showers. The snow showers will bring another fresh covering to spots east of I-99 with a couple more inches possible across the Laurel Highlands. Clouds may hang tough for a while Thursday morning before breaking for some sunshine during the afternoon. The next system will approach with an increase in cloudiness on Friday. A little rain or a wintry mix is possible later Friday into Friday night. We'll have some leftover showers Saturday; otherwise, it will be cloudy to partly sunny and mild with highs in the lower 40s. Sunday and Monday will be fairly nice for this time of the year with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Highs both days will be in the middle 40s. The next system may bring a wintry mix Monday night into Tuesday.
