DUBOIS, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - "On a night like last night somebody got to have 4 walls around them or they are going to freeze to death; freezing to death would be an awful way to go"  says Keith Smith of the DuBois Haven House Shelter.

The shelter was opened to keep people out of the cold and off of the street.

"Cause of the dream of a mother who lost a daughter homeless" he says.

"I
t feels pretty wonderful to help the guests that come in" said Kelli Williams, manager of the house.

When they do not come in there is worry.

"We had a call last night for somebody that didn't show up. I
t's something that when you work at this it becomes a real part of your life"

"I worry about them. Some people just refuse to come into a shelter which is really sad" said Williams.

" I fear for them I am surprised we don't get more activity because of the bitter cold" said Smith.

They still have one room available. If you need assistance call (814) 371-0333.

In Clearfield men can call Good Samaratin at  (814)765-6880.
