UNIVERSITY PARK, PA - The Penn State football team held its annual Lift for Life event Friday, a fundraiser that has helped raise more than $600, 000 for the Kidney Cancer Association.

It was the tenth annual fundraiser with Head Football Coach Bill O'Brien implementing an offense verses defense format.

The event this year featured several new competitions including a van push.

Players are hopeful this year's Lift for Life is enough to help fans and the State College community focus on the positive impact of the Penn State football team.

"Well this is a great event and all the stuff that's been going on, I  was saying earlier that hope that all the stuff that's been going on doesn't cast a shadow on what we're all out here doing today, " said quarterback Matt McGloin. "This is a great event something we put on each and every year and like I said I just don't want everything that's happened to affect what were trying to do out here today."

You can still make a "Lift for Life" donation by visiting the Penn State Uplifting Athletes donation page at http://liftforlife.upliftingathletes.org/lfl2/.
