7 PSU Students Arrested in Drug Bust

ALTOONA - Officers arrested seven Penn State Altoona students in a drug bust late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, and they are still searching for one man.

The investigation began in November 2010 by officers with Penn State Altoona Police.  They enlisted the help of the Blair County Drug Task Force.  Throughout the investigation undercover agents bought marijuana from the students six times.

None of the suspects are from Central Pennsylvania.

Officers said late Monday into Tuesday, they made several buy-busts.  During which they seized one vehicle, one ounce of marijuana,  a stolen license plate, and $160.

Officials said the sources of marijuana were at College Park Apartments and Nittany Pointe Apartments.

Officers hold an arrest warrant for the following man, who was unable to be located during the bust:

Steven Boyd, 19, of Montgomery Ave., Jenkintown, Montgomery County; Boyd faces 1 count of Felony Drug Delivery

Listed below are the following seven suspects and the charges that they face:

  • Kevin Tyndall, 21, of 1501 Cardiff Terace, West Chester, Chester County; 3 counts of Felony Drug Delivery; Tyndall was arraigned and placed in the Blair County Prison on $30,000 bail
  • Michael Clay, 20, of 8835 Morning Dove Court, Gaithersburg, Maryland; He received 1 count misdemeanor small amount of marijuana and 1 count misdemeanor use/possession of drug paraphenalia
  • David Mitchell, 19, of 11308 Churchbend Court, Germantown, Maryland; 3 counts of Felony Drug Delivery; Mitchell was arraigned and placed in the Blair County Prison on $40,000 bail
  • Daniel Chapman, 21, of 182 Snowdrift Rd., Eighty Four, Washington County; He was processed on misdemeanor drug charges and released with a pending preliminary hearing
  • Alejandro Nieto, 20, of 2082 Westfield Ave., Scotch Planes, New Jersey; He was processed on He was processed on misdemeanor drug charges and released with a pending preliminary hearing
  • Christian Kaufman, 19, of 149 12th Ave. North, Waite Park, Minneosota; He was processed on He was processed on misdemeanor drug charges and released with a pending preliminary hearing
  • David Goldberg, 19, of 12743 Hollins Rd., Philadelphia, Philadelphia County; He was processed on He was processed on misdemeanor drug charges and released with a pending preliminary
