Updated: February 11, 2009
The Indiana County Coroner is still investigating the death of an IUP student. Douglas Haney Jr. of Bellefonte was found dead Tuesday night inside his dorm room. Campus police found the freshman's body. A preliminary autopsy did not name a cause of death. The Coroners Office is waiting on toxicology results. The Baker Koch Funeral Home in State College is handling funeral arrangements.

The President of IUP issued his condolences today on the campus website. Dr. Tony Atwater Wrote:

"Obviously the death of any IUP student is tragic and difficult to bear for members of the IUP community. I am sure you join me in expressing concern and sympathy for Douglas's friends and family."

Counseling is available on campus.
