HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY - The bids are in from some health care companies interested in taking over Blair County's Valley View nursing home. County officials say they are pleased with the multimillion dollar offers.

This Tuesday was the first time information was released about how much a number of private companies are willing to bid for the Valley View nursing home.  The Blair County Commissioners are currently reviewing bids that range from $12 million to just over $16 million.

The size of the bids was pleasing to the Commissioners who have supported the sale of Valley View.  While the county leaders appear to be moving towards the sale of the home, some employees say they are still doing all they can to raise objections to that sale. The employees who attended Tuesday's meeting contend the biggest losers in any sale will be the more than 200 residents and patients they care for every day.

The Blair Commissioners expect to spend the next week reviewing the Valley View bids and narrowing them down to a few finalists. They say a final sales agreement could be in place with in a couple of months if negotiations go according to plan.
