CLEARFIELD, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - It was just after 11:00pm when multiple crews were called to Ethan's Cafe along Third Street in Clearfield.

Heavy flames were shooting through the roof and into the upstairs apartment. The flames threatened to spread down the block.

For 6 hours multiple departments were on scene. They were able to contain the blaze, but the apartments and Ethan's Cafe are a total loss.

State Police estimate the blaze caused $750,000 in damage. The cause is still under investigation.

On Monday, the section of Third was still closed off as crews continued clean-up. All together the fire damaged the 5 apartments, Ethan's Cafe owned by Dustin Quigley, Evan's Photography, and the County Commissioner Building.

It is unclear when Ethan's will re-open. Evan's Photography will continue to be ran out of Evan's home.

Everyone involved wanted to thank the fire department for their hard work.

A benefit is planned for Saturday March 2, at 5:00pm in the Expo 1 Building. It is still in the planning stages, but save the date for the event.  Currently, Buster's is sponsoring the venue location and planners are looking to the community for donations of: food, drinks, plates, cups, silver wear, etc. and also prizes for an auction. Entertainment is currently in the works as well. This event will also serve as a drop off location for toiletries and house-hold items for the families. Sizes for shoes and clothes are still being researched will get back to you with specifics.

If you are interested in making a donation, please contact Becki at your earliest convenience! You can contact her at 592-8264. The CRC will be sending updates and keeping everyone in the loop with ticket information and details.
