"It's pretty good here today, got some fresh powder down so it's been some good carving," Arlan Beiler of Nanty-Glo says.

It was nearly a picture perfect day for skiers at Blue Knob Ski Resort. The only trouble was fog.

You kinda can't see where you're going...some of the posts will pop up...the jumps will pop up but you guess take the best you can off of it and hope for the best," Brock Hill of Nanty-Glo says.

Even with some visibility issues, the timing of the snow is something the resort is happy to see.

"The thing that makes the biggest difference is if we get snow on Thursday, Friday or Saturday and they see some snow in their yard and then they come up," Blue Knob General Manager Doug Houck says,

Houck says that timing has been fortunate all season, and it's caused a few new faces to make the trip up the mountain.

"It's my first time out in 7 years. I went to tune my skis up and the bindings broke on them so I had to rent theirs," Barry Stutzman of Johnstown says.

And even though the heaviest snow will be to our east, Houck says he's glad to just have some fresh powder on the slopes.

"It would be perfect if we got one inch every day for the entire season so this 4 to 6 inches we're expected to get is just absolutely perfect," Houck says.

Houck says the winter ski season has been better this year, and the biggest difference is having some snow in the valley putting the idea of skiing in people's heads.
