Pennsylvania Forests Review

Updated: January 22, 2013

HARRISBURG, DAULPHIN COUNTY - A group called Rainforest Alliance released their findings today on the management of Pennsylvania forests.

The DCNR says they've been certified for the 15 straight years.

Certification means wood products from the state's public forests come from a sustainable, well-managed system, which helps Pennsylvania to compete in the growing market of "green" labeled products.

Pennsylvania's $7 billion forest products industry employs more than 60,000 people.
