Meth Lab Discovered In Somerset Borough

SOMERSET BOROUGH, SOMERSET COUNTY--- State Police arrested 21- year old Justin Carr and charged him with making and operating a meth lab inside of his apartment.

It happened Monday afternoon in the 100 block of South Vincent Avenue.

"It could have been a very serious and dangerous situation, it's in a residential neighborhood," said Assistant District Attorney Hannah Myers.

Police arrested Carr and his girlfriend Samantha McKenzie, Myers said its unclear how long the lab was operating inside of the home.

"Police were there for a report of drug activity when they discovered the lab."

Neighbors were shocked to learn there was a meth lab was next door.

"I was scared, it could have exploded you never know," said Lois Johnston.

Carr is in the Somerset County Jail; McKenzie is out on $50,000 unsecured bond.
