STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY - Nittany Lion wrestler Ed Ruth (Harrisburg, Pa.) has been named the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6, 2013.  The honor is Ruth's third overall and the first for Penn State this season.

Ruth dominated the competition at the 2013 Southern Scuffle, winning his third straight Scuffle individual crown and leading Penn State to its third straight Scuffle team title. Ruth went 6-0 with three pins and two majors, advancing to the finals where he dismantled defending NCAA 184-pound champion Steve Bosak of Cornell 7-3 with nearly 3:00 riding time. Ruth's unstoppable performance helped Penn State to a runaway team title. Ruth is now 15-0 on the year with five pins, five majors and two tech falls.

Penn State hosts Michigan State on Sunday, Jan. 13.
