Program for Veterans

CENTRE COUNTY - A diversion pilot program for military veterans already underway in Centre County is expanding.

Veterans facing jail time for minor criminal offenses now have a new option -- supervised treatment. 

Its part of a pilot program put in place by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. The program started in Centre County last month and is now being initiated in Monroe and Westmoreland counties.

Upon completion of the six month program, summary charges would be dismissed.
