ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Altoona police arrest a man say he had 20 thousand dollars worth of marijuana. And it's not his first run in with the law in Central PA. Altoona police say they an early morning traffic stop led to the drug arrest of Jermaine Morgan, a career criminal.

Police say Morgan was riding in the car and his wife was driving when they stopped the Altoona couple around 2:00 Sunday morning on Washington Avenue. But he got out and walked up to their porch while officers were walking up to the vehicle.

Police say Morgan was wearing an empty holster and they found a handgun on the porch. Police arrested Morgan because he was not legally allowed to carry a gun.

They arrested his wife Latasha Morgan on suspected DUI. She told police her children were inside with no one watching them. So police went in to check on the kids and say they found around ten pounds of pot, more than seven thousand dollars, and a scale to weigh the drugs.

Jermaine Morgan wasn't allowed to carry a gun because he is a convicted felon.

In 2008, Morgan was arrested for Reckless Endangerment for firing a gun on Chestnut Avenue in Altoona. He had been arrested on similar charges the year before.

In 1992, a jury found Jermaine Morgan not guilty for a murder in Cambria County. In 1993, he was convicted of Aggravated Assault in Blair County. Three years later he was convicted of the same charge in Centre County.

And in 2004, it appeared he was the victim of a crime when a Maryland man shot him in an Altoona bar.

Both Jermaine and Latasha Morgan were taken to the Blair County prison Sunday on weapons, DUI, and drug charges.

Not to mention, the children had been asleep for hours. Thanks.

I feel disrespected and a correction needs changed in this article immediately. The kids were not unattended, I was the babysitter of my siblings. Legally, I am allowed to babysit, so feel free to change the false claims in this article anytime.
