Two More Hospitals Planning to Affiliate

Two more hospitals in our region are considering a closer affiliation. Geisinger Health System and Lewistown Hospital  say they've signed a letter of intent to explore ways they  can work together  more closely. Lewistown and Geisinger currently  collaborate on telemedicine programs.

Lewistown's CEO says the move is an important  step toward keeping  the hospital open and enhancing its services. The organizations say the affiliation process could take several months..
