ALLPORT, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - The Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport has spent three days baking over 1,200 pounds of fruitcake as a fundraiser for their congregation.

To bake each cake takes 5 eggs, 2 jars of cherries, dates, and nuts. Twenty years ago when the fundraiser began they sold around 500 cakes now, they have sold over a thousand.

They say their secret to success is their great team who has fun while baking.

Plus, they use roasters to bake the cakes so the process is faster.
