RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Flames ripped through a home in Richland Township early Sunday morning.

It happened at a home in the 400 block of Second Street around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Firefighters from multiple departments responded to the blaze.  The fire is believed to have started in the garage.  A neighbor out for a jog saw the smoke and started to bang on the windows alerting the elderly couple inside.  They escaped without any injuries.

Richland Township Fire Chief said there was a problem with getting enough water power from a nearby hydrant.

"We did have water issues down here the hydrants," said Chief Todd Shaffer.  "We could not supply the water fast enough for that major of a fire so we had to call in additional crews to get water from old Farm Lane."

The fire marshal from the state was called in to investigate.
