A local hospital broke ground today for a new employee credit union. Altoona Regional Health System is building the facility near its current credit union on route 764 in Duncansville. It will serve 4300 members who work at Altoona Regional and the Veeder Root plant.
The $850,000 project replaces the renovated house which now serves as a credit union office for both groups. The old credit union building will be torn down when the new one is completed.
It's scheduled to open in April 2013. The new location will feature two-lane drive through service and a 24-hour ATM.
