JEFFERSON COUNTY - Jefferson County EMA director Tracy Zents says he is now preparing for the biggest storm of his career.
After hanging up the phone with NAWS, Zents said the largest concerns are with heavy rain and with the winds causing power outages.
"We are going to work with the Red Cross that does our mass care/mass sheltering to make sure they are ready to go as well" said Zents.
They currently have called in more dispatch and have helped the municipalities prepare. They are ensuring all equipment that will be used to clear roadways, cut down fallen trees and so forth is working.
Zents adds that people should not take the storm lightly and should have enough food and water for at least 72 hours.
